Software and infrastructure engineering

We automate manual work, build custom software, and design, run and scale the infrastructure underneath it: containers and Kubernetes, Chef and infrastructure as code, and Linux at scale.

What we do

Automation

Replace repetitive manual work with reliable scripts, workflows and CI/CD pipelines, so releases and routine jobs run themselves.

Custom software

Internal tools, integrations and APIs built around how your organisation actually works, with tests and documentation.

Containers & Kubernetes

Containerise your applications and run them on Kubernetes: cluster design, migration and day-to-day operation.

Chef & infrastructure as code

Servers and environments defined in code with Chef, so every build is repeatable, reviewable and quick to recreate.

Linux infrastructure & scaling

Linux platforms that stay fast and available as load grows: tuning, high availability, hardening and capacity planning.

Managed infrastructure

We build, run and monitor the infrastructure your software needs, as a service, so your team can focus on the product.

Technologies we work with

  • Kubernetes
  • Docker
  • Chef
  • Linux
  • Git

Proven where it matters

We’ve delivered Kubernetes, Chef, Linux infrastructure and automation work for UK government agencies.

Those environments don’t tolerate guesswork. We bring the same habits to every project: automate it, test it, document it and secure it.

  • Containers & KubernetesContainerising applications and running them on Kubernetes.
  • Chef & infrastructure as codeRepeatable, reviewable server configuration.
  • Linux at scaleRunning, hardening and scaling Linux infrastructure.
  • Automation & custom softwarePipelines, tooling and bespoke software.

Ways to work with us

Each one is quoted for your situation once we understand what you need.

Project

A defined piece of work with a clear outcome.

  • Written scope and fixed quote
  • Architecture and plan agreed up front
  • Built and tested in your repositories
  • Handover with documentation

Embedded

Specialist help inside your existing team.

  • Working in your tools and processes
  • Kubernetes, Chef, Linux and automation expertise
  • Knowledge transfer to your engineers
  • Suited to longer contracts and public sector work

How a project runs

  1. Discover

We learn how your systems and teams work today, and where time, money or reliability is being lost.

  2. Design

An architecture and plan you can review, with a written scope and quote before work starts.

  3. Build

Built in small, tested steps in your repositories, so you can see progress as it happens.

  4. Automate

Pipelines, infrastructure as code and documentation, so it can be rebuilt and released the same way every time.

  5. Run

We hand it over to your team, or run and improve it for you.

Questions we’re often asked

Do you work with what we already run?

Yes. We start from what you have today, on your own servers or with a hosting provider, and improve it rather than replacing everything.

Can you take over a system someone else built?

Yes. We document what it does and how it’s deployed, stabilise it, and then agree a plan to improve, containerise or replace it.

Will we be locked in to you?

No. Code, pipelines and infrastructure definitions live in your repositories with documentation, so your team or another supplier can pick them up.

Do you always use Kubernetes?

No. Kubernetes suits some workloads; for others a well-run Linux server is simpler and cheaper. We recommend what fits.

Do you work with public sector organisations?

Yes. Our clients include UK government agencies.

Should we build custom software or buy something?

If a product already does what you need, buying is usually cheaper. We’ll tell you honestly, and build only where it gives you an advantage.
